1. Yonders Point

Yonders Point is a newly-built plaza southwest of the baseball fields in Old Settlers Park that offers families a relaxing retreat complete with pergolas with swings, terraced seating, and lounges. The plaza, which was unveiled Friday night, is a part of the city’s plan to make the park a family-friendly destination.

It’s the perfect place to start a new adventure with a family or a group of friends. With amenities designed to suit your active lifestyle – a resort-style pool, splash pad, playground, and much more – it’s hard to beat Homestead at Old Settlers Park for family fun in Round Rock. Plus, you’re just minutes from all the best in shopping, dining, and entertainment. And easy access to I-35 and SH-45 makes your daily commute a breeze.

2. Bridges

There are many bridges in Old Settlers Park, and these provide a great backdrop for high school senior, child, and family photos. They also add a unique industrial look to the park.

The City of Round Rock is extending Old Settlers Boulevard from N Red Bud Lane to County Road 110, which will complete an east-west connection and enhance the community. Design is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023, and utility adjustments could last until spring of 2024. The extension is part of the City’s Transportation Master Plan, and right-of-way acquisition is underway. The City will host a public open house in January 2021 and a virtual open house in July 2021 to share preliminary design plans and gather feedback from the community. 3. Playgrounds

Playgrounds are a great way to exercise and enjoy time with your family. Old Settlers Park has several playgrounds that can be enjoyed by kids of all ages and abilities.

Joanne Land Playground is a great place for kids who love to get their heart racing. Its equipment includes two bridges that are over 20 feet high, a tube slide, and an obstacle course.

The playground also has a toddler area that’s tamer and less intense than the other areas in the park.

The city of Round Rock has a lot of improvements underway to its parks and trails. The park development manager, Katie Baker, said the department is focusing on projects that encourage passive recreation. She added that while many people think of parks as places for the younger demographic to play, she’s seeing an increased need for adults to relax and recreate in a safe environment.

4. Sports Complexes

The 645-acre Old Settlers Park is a well-known sports destination for local and national athletic events. The park features a 20-field baseball complex, five-field softball complex, seven soccer facilities, and a professionally designed disc golf course.

The city is also home to the Round Rock Express, a Triple-A Minor League Baseball team that plays in the Pacific Coast League. It is a subsidiary of the Texas Rangers and was founded by Reid Ryan, son of former major league Baseball Hall of Famer Nolan Ryan.

In addition to the sports complexes, Old Settlers Park offers several recreational options including a water park, regulation cricket field, playgrounds, fishing lake, and a remote control airport. It is also home to numerous Special Events that take place throughout the year.
